Iris sibirica & hybrids (Siberian Iris)
These grassy leaved irises coming from Europe and Central Asia are excellent for damp but well drained areas. Mostly used in landscape plantings beside ponds, in wild garden themes or formal gardens. They flourish in places with abundant water during the growing months (spring and summer), but will die if left permanently waterlogged. This group of iris resents dividing and would usually require time to establish before blooming. For best results, use fresh potting medium each time they are repotted to ensure that they are in moist by well drained soil. These irises will thrive in temperate to cool temperate climate. They will flower during the late spring and early summer and will go completely dormant during winter. Approximate growth is about 0.5m to 1m or so in height under ideal conditions. Dispatch from August to October only.
