About Us
One of the largest aquatic plants specialist nursery in the southern hemisphere offering a wide range of plants suitable for the Australian climate. We have close to 30 years of experience in the water gardening field and has been trading for over 25 years. In 1996, we launched our online mail order service in Australia. Since then, we have been operating solely as a mail order business. Every now and then we import rare, interesting and new plant materials from around the world into Australia to add to our existing range. We also have our own plant breeding programme, experimenting with the creation of new varieties of waterlilies, lotus and marginal plants.
Our mail order service focus on supplying bare-rooted plants (free from potting media) to our customers. A small range of plants will be available each season as potted stock for our wholesale/trade customers.
We provide friendly service and qualified horticultural advice in the field of water gardening. Our business currently operates over a few locations. We have a small team of employees at the nursery to cover the tasks of propagating, harvesting and preparation of the plant materials. Due to this reason, we will remain trading as an online nursery. This will enable us to focus on growing and supplying healthy plants to our customers. The plants we sell has been hardened outdoors and have acclimatised to our climate. This means the plants will experience minimal shock once they are transplanted. The temperature range for our climate starts from lowest at around 4°C (39°F) in winter to highest of around 40°C (104°F) in summer.
There is around 1000 different plants in our collection. So, not all plants we grow are listed on this website (especially some rare or more recently imported ones). If there is a particular plant species or variety that you are looking for, please feel free to contact us. Sometimes we may have it in our collection and can supply a small quantity of them. Prices on some imported plants or slow to propagate varieties can sometimes be higher. This is due to either the high cost in time and effort involved in propagating them or the highly expensive cost on importing plant materials into Australia.
Our main focus at the moment, is to propagate smaller quantities of a wide range of plants. This is so that we can offer more diverse and interesting plants to our customers. Please feel free to contact us if you have any queries in regards to our products.
PLEASE NOTE: The plant propagation area is no longer at the Bass Hill address and has been relocated to another location.
